Liability is a legal feature which allows the liability position of different parties to be tracked on a matter. Based on the configuration a lawyer is able to track what different parties involved in a legal matter believe their liability to be. Liability positions can be configured from different view points and can incorporate the differences between the perspective of the lawyer and their client.
When a final decision is made on liability a decision date can be logged. Reason codes behind the positions can allow the system to determine what the impact of the liability decision should be.
