Add participant roles to one or more work-types. Participant roles are an element that is inherited from the parent work type. Configure the work type participant role to define how that role is used on that and inherited work types.
Add a Participant Role to a Work Type
- Modeller > Work Types > Edit work type > Participant Roles
- Click Add Role button
- Start typing to find the role and select. As soon as you select a role the configuration screen displays/
Configure the Participant Role on the Work Type
This can be done when the Role is added to the work type or to edit the configuration settings (as shown above) of a work type participant role, it must be done on the parent it is inherited from.
Modeller > Work Types > Edit work type > Participant Roles > Click the row or the arrow at the end of the row or Actions > Configure

Make available to be selected as a participant role on this work type. From 7.12 you can also quickly set active/set inactive a participant role from the List View on the Actions menu. This can be done on all roles including inherited ones, to save editing the role. |

| Requirement Level | Select whether this role is optional, mandatory or recommended. |
| Allow Multiple | Allow more than one participant on this work type to have this role. |
| Allow Ordering | Available if Allow Multiple is set to Yes. This allows the user to order the participants with this role type in order of precedence. |
| Billable | Allow billing rates to be applied to this role on this work type. |
| Manually Assignable | Automatically set to Yes. This allows users to assign this role to a participant. |
| Bulk Assign | This relates to the Bulk Assign global feature. Set to yes if you are using this feature and want to allow this role to be bulk assigned. |
| Can Change | Allow a participant with this role to have their role changed. |

Set this role to be part of the Case Team. Participants with this role display in the Case Team section on the Work Type Manage Participants blade.

Role Sourcing When a user adds a participant to a work item, a list of participants can be presented to the user as possible assignments to the role. Configure these settings to determine which participants are queried for possible assignment to this role. | |

You can specify roles that are to be included and/or excluded in the suggestions. If you don't specify roles, all participants that meet the Role ODS Setting (i.e. a witness can only be a person) are suggested. Click in the fields and select a role - multiple roles can be selected. |
