Contact preferences allows different contact methods to be configured for people, organisation or teams. When a person, organisation or team is created you can enter contact information about that entity. This could be a telephone number, email etc.
This feature allows you to configure the list of available contact types by type (person, organisation or team), and it also allows you to configure whether or not a contact method is always visible on the user interface for that entity. If the item is enabled but not configured as on form , the user will need to press an add button to add in this contact method as an additional item. Any items that are configured as enabled and on form will automatically be displayed in the contact details section for that entity, regardless of whether any information has been entered.
Feature Configuration
Access this global feature at Launchpad > Admin > Features > Global Features. Search for contact.
When configuring this feature you can select from the list whether you want to configure preferences for people, organisations or teams. Clicking on the cog icon opens up the detail for each type. Select enabled to enable the contact method and select on form to indicate that the contact method should always be displayed in the contact details form.
